JEAN REGINA ARDELL CORRIGAN

On March 30, 1935, Jean was born to Wes and Ida Ogden on the farm south of Emo in Lash Township, Ont.
She lived her life in Emo until her passing on May 28, 2014 at the age of 79.
Jean was the third of six children. She will be lovingly remembered by her kindness, patience, and quiet ways.
Jean took her schooling at Lash School, high school in Fort Frances, summer courses in Thunder Bay, and one year of North Bay Teachers’ College in 1955-56. She retired in June, 1990 from the Rainy River District School Board after 33 years of teaching, only taking time off to adopt their two girls.
Jean was a very quiet person who loved to read, play cribbage, and enjoy the company of friends and family.
Many years vacationing with Ted were spent in Arizona and one visit to Texas, and always with their beloved dog, “Lady.” Jean and Ted also enjoyed many camping trips and adventures throughout Canada and the U.S.
Jean will be dearly missed by all those she touched in any way.
On Aug. 24, 1954, she married Donald E. (Ted) Corrigan, her long-time friend and soulmate for almost 60 years.
She leaves to mourn her husband, Ted; her two daughters, Kay (John) Redford, all of Emo, Ont., and Marlena Gaune of Fort Frances, Ont.
Also left to cherish her memory are her four grandchildren, Lori Marie Gaune, and Turner, Morgan, and Maddysan Redford; siblings, Dave Ogden of Atikokan, Ont., Lorne (Edith) Ogden of Burlington, Ont., Mamie Ogden, and Cecil (Thelma) Ogden; sisters-in-law, Pat Ogden, also of Emo, Ont., and Aileen Rudd of B.C.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
Jean also will be fondly remembered by her two very best friends, Liz Donaldson and June Winik.
Jean was predeceased by her parents, Wes and Ida Ogden; brother, Alex Ogden; sisters-in-law, Carol Ogden and Phyllis Corrigan; brothers-in-law, Ken Corrigan, Gib Corrigan, and Glenn Rudd; and in-laws, George and Claire Corrigan.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 2, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Emo, Ont., with Pastor Conrad Dueck officiating.
The pallbearers were Randy McTavish, Jon Paul Winik, Murray Corrigan, Norman Hyatt, Lindsey Corrigan, and Kent Ogden.
The honouray pallbearers where her grandchild, Lori Marie Gaune, Turner Redford, Morgan Redford, and Maddysan Redford, Liz Donaldson, Jack and June Winik, Don and Dixie Kinnear, Carol and Mark Hyatt, Norman and Nancy Cain, Norm and Emily Hyatt, Dave and Linda Bourgeault, Ken and Sally Hall, Garry and Lorna Angus, and all family and friends who meant so much to her.
