It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and friend, Jean-Pierre “J.P.” Daigle.
He entered into rest on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont., with family by his side, after a short battle with heart disease. J.P.’s passing has been a sudden one.
Born on Jan. 14, 1959 in St. John, N.B., he was predeceased by his adoptive family, his brother, Gill Daigle; father, Gerard Daigle; and his mother, Aline Daigle.
He also was predeceased are his sisters-in-law, Cecilia Whitefield (Darryl), Margaret Big George, and Denise Bluebird.
Jean Pierre is survived by his wife, Josephine; daughter, Roseanna; son, James (Trish); grandchildren, Aryanna, Erik, Phynix, and Kira; foster sons, Davon and Byron; and best friend/brother Vincent (Connie).
He also is survived by his sister-in-law May; as well as nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends of whom he had made an impact on throughout his life.
Overcoming alcoholism and being a member of A.A. for 30 years, J.P. and his wife had built an alcohol-free life and successfully raised and provided for his family.
A truck driver by trade, J.P. loved to travel and drive cross-country as driving was one of his favourite activities. Art and creativity always has been a big part of his life, painting and creating artwork was a passion that he never denied.
Jean-Pierre will be remembered for his kind heart, his sense of humour, and his story-telling. We love you, Daddy, thank you for being you and having such a big heart.
A time of fellowship will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Big Island First Nation Community Hall in Morson, Ont
