Jean Miller, a long-time resident of Walker Avenue in Fort Frances, Ont., passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 in Thunder Bay.
She was born in Emo, Ont. in 1934.
Jean moved to Fort Frances at the age of 10 and moved to Walker Avenue 10 years later, where she lived for the next 60 years and took great pride in raising her six children there.
She looked forward to her monthly “club” with her North End ladies. Jean also loved and enjoyed her yard, as well as her numerous dogs.
Jean worked for many years at La Verendrye Hospital, making many life-long friends. She ended her career as a nurse’s aide in the O.R.
She is survived by her children, Jack (Pam), Diana (Wayne) Cross, Sterling (Terry), Jim, Kathy (Dion) McKenzie, and Debbie Miller; grandchildren, Rachel (Todd), Kerri (Curt), James (Danielle), Charles, Matt, Sarah (Dylan), Katlyn, Scottlynn, Lillian, and Rebecca; as well as several great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by her brother, Sterling (Fern) Douglas.
Jean was predeceased by Jack Miller and their son, Scott, in 1982.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 15, 2015 at 11 a.m. at La Place Rendez-Vous in Fort Frances, with Diane Clifford officiating.
Interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
As per her request, the honourary pallbearers will be all of Jean’s friends.
