On Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006 at the Emo Hospital, Jean M. Curtis of Emo, Ont. peacefully passed away at the age of 95.
She was born Dec. 19, 1910 in Richardson, Sask. to the late George and Elsie Campbell.
Jean taught school in Carpenter and Mather 8 for five years. She was united in marriage to the late Jonathan Curtis (2003) on July 3, 1935.
Jean was a valued member of the Knox United Church in Emo, and she enjoyed gardening and baking for her family and friends.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Jack (Gwen) Curtis, Jill (Al) Kellar, and Syd (Mary) Curtis, all of Emo, Ont., Marilyn (Ted) Stauch of Calgary, Alta., Sharron (Roger) Haney of Thunder Bay, Ont., Garry (Kelly) Curtis of Clearwater, B.C., and Frank (Cheryl) Curtis and Delmer Curtis, all of Emo, Ont.
Jean also will be fondly remembered by 21 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by her sisters, Alice Irvine of Emo, Ont., Eva Newman of Aurora, Ont., Pearl McLeod (Bob) of Toronto, Ont., and Elsie Clark of Calgary, Alta.; and brother, Bob (Gwen) Campbell of Newmarket, Ont.
Jean was predeceased by her brothers, Ken and Bill Campbell.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Knox United Church in Emo, with Rev. Frances Flook officiating.
Interment in the Emo Cemetery.
The pallbearers and honourary pallbearers were her granddaughters, Joanne, Jodi, Pam, Sherri, Glenda, Tammy, Shelley, Kristy, Janene, Dawn, Tracey, and Cindy.
