In the early morning hours of Saturday, October 18, 2025, at La Verendrye Hospital, surrounded by her loving family and friends, Janice Parks was called to her place in heaven after her fourth and final battle with cancer.
Janice was born August 30, 1948, to George and Alvina (Dolly) McPherson.

She began her nursing career at Rainycrest followed by Good Samaritan Nursing Home and Public Health Services in International Falls. She then worked at Gizhewaadiziwin Health Access Center until her retirement in 2016.
She was a very accomplished seamstress and crafted many beautiful quilts. Janice loved gardening and fishing. Father Gino was well supplied with fish from Janice, his “fish lady.”
In August 2012, she was blessed with her greatest pride and joy in the form of her only grandchild, Benjamin Terrance James Parks.
Janice was a woman of strong faith and found great comfort and hope by attending mass faithfully.
