Thirty-one years ago, Jim moved to Fort Frances and was joined in marriage to the love-of-his-life and best friend, Diane.
They made Fort Frances their home. Jim took the people of Fort Frances into his heart. He found great enjoyment in the wonders of nature in the area, particularly Rainy Lake.
Jim touched a multitude of lives in many different ways. He will be remembered and missed for his role as a loving and beloved husband; for his huge spirit and vitality; for his professionalism and compassion as a paramedic; for his loyalty as a friend and generosity as a mentor; for his curiosity and enjoyment of new experiences; for his strength of character and his courage; as well as for his wonderful smile and quick-witted sense of humour.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Alice Maxey of Chatham, Ont., as well as good friend and father-in-law, Jack Rummery of Schreiber, Ont.
Left to mourn Jim’s passing and to keep his memory in their hearts are his wife, Diane; mother-in-law, Dorothy Rummery and adopted mom, Sybil Johnson; as well as a number of special people who have become Jim and Diane’s chosen and very precious extended family.
