Meek, James

With his Loving family at his side, Jim passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Jim was born on June 30, 1931 to the late Anna and John Meek of Sprague, Man., where he was raised.
He met the love of his life, Marjorie Hunter, and they married on April 27, 1954.
He was employed by CN until his retirement in 1987. They lived and raised their family in Rainy River, Ont., then moved after retirement to the Morson, Ont. area before again moving in 2009 to Fort Frances.
For 20 winters after retirement, Jim and Marjorie travelled with their RV meeting and making new friends wherever they went.
He loved carpentry–from building homes to woodworking with his grandchildren–and enjoyed the great outdoors, guiding, hunting, and fishing. He also loved spending time with his family and friends sharing many stories.
He always lent a willing hand in helping out with projects for others.

He also is survived by his sisters, Mary (Steve) Stamler and Lynda Rozsa, both of Stonewall, Man. Jim has many nieces and nephews that he loved.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Anna and John; brother, Stan; mother- and father in-law, Helen and Hugh Hunter; sisters-in-law, Joan and Jan and their husbands; son-in-law, Glen Treflin; and nephews, Duncan and Fraser.
Jim will be sadly missed by all.
