JAMES E. KIRK

James Edgar Kirk, 83, of Prior Lake, formerly of International Falls, Mn., passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Friday, Nov. 10, 2006.
He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Laura Kirk; and grandson, Joey Kucera.
Mr. Kirk is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eileen; daughters, Kathy (Lyle) Tompkins of Chippewa Falls, Wis., Lisa Ingerson of Lakeville, Mn., and Peggy (Bryan) Ettestad of Eden Prairie, Mn.; son, Robert (Debra) Kirk of Lakeville, Mn.; and grandchildren, Laura, Ben (Alanna), Andrew, and David Kucera, Mariah Ingerson, Amy and Adam Ettestad, and Austin and Cameron Kirk.
Also surviving are two brothers, Basil (MaryLou) Kirk of New Brunswick and Ray (Karen) Kirk of Ontario; and two sisters-in-law, Eunice Hamilton and Audrey (Erling) Johnson of Ontario.
Jim was born June 1, 1923 in Cranbrook, B.C. He served as a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force, flying 217 missions in the China-Burma-India Theatre during World War II.
He graduated from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ont. as a chemical engineer, and worked for Mando/Boise Cascade Corp. as a development engineer for 39 years.
Inurnment and a memorial service celebrating Mr. Kirk’s life were held Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006 at Faith United Church of Christ in International Falls, with Rev. Sue Hamly presiding.
