JAMES CHARLES MORRISON “SHOUMUG”

The family of James Morrison “Shoumug” sadly announce his passing on December 8, 2024.

Shoumug was a commercial fisherman, trapper and guided on various lakes, camps, resorts this side of Ontario. He loved it on the lake, participating in Traditional ceremonies and powwow’s both traditional and competition. He traveled both Canada and the United States.

He believed family was of utmost importance.

He is leaving behind his children Laurie (Allan Gibbons), Thomas, Cypress, Theren and Rainy; step-children Charlotte, Migizi, Tammy, Ginette; and his grandchildren Alyson (Johnny Kirkrude), Jaysa (Gillie Bouchard), Mike Thunder, Joseph Thunder, Darian Handorgan, Diamnd Handorgan; step-grandchildren, Shariah, Tyrell, Piersten, Riley, Migizi and baby boy; great-grandkids Brooke, Nat, Jacob, Serenity, Johnny, Juliet, Evander, Phoneix, Thomas, Addie, Lanie, Novalee; his partner Donna Joseph.

Predeceased by Marshall Morrison and Sarah Morrison; and grandson Colby; granddaughter Cadence; and brother Donavan.

A traditional wake will be held at Big Grassy Hall, Morson, Ontario, on Thursday, December 12, beginning at 4:00 p.m. with traditional funeral on Friday, December 13, at 10:00 a.m.

Elder will be Tommy Councillor. Pallbearers will be Diamond Handorgan, Darian Handorgan, Sean Comegan, Matt Comegan, Jarvis Little and Johnny Kirkrude.
