Jackie (Jacko) Ray McLeod passed away peacefully on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont.
Jacko was born on April 29, 1957 in Fort Frances. He was the fifth of six children.
He lived his entire life in Fort Frances, with many years at Sybil Russel Hall and then later independently until such time as he moved to Rainycrest.
He was very involved in sports his whole life; playing baseball and bowling, and watching wrestling. He was an avid fan of the Fort Frances Muskie hockey team and went to as many games as possible.
His love for hockey was undeniable.
Jacko worked at Tim Hortons for many years, as well as at Good Impressions.
He was a friend to all as he always gave everyone a hug. Many will remember him as the greeter at the Rainycrest doors during his stay there and his love for his family was shared with all.
Jacko was predeceased by his beloved parents, Jim and Jane McLeod, and sister, Cindy.
He leaves behind his brothers, Wayne (Rita), Bruce (Sande), Murray (Nancy), and Rod (Delaine); numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his Community Living family who were a very important part of his life.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be a gathering on Saturday, April 14 from 1-3 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Fort Frances.
A private interment ceremony will be held at a later date.
