It is with great sadness that the family of Jack Neale Murray announces his passing on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jack will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Fran; and children, Heather, Tobi, Lindsly (Darlene), and Jack Jr.
Jack also will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Ava, Jason (Jessie) Shea, Chanel, Gabrielle, and Terelle; and great-grandchildren, Anthony, Lily, Charlee, and Mikayla.
He also is survived by his first wife, Eva Rae Ferguson.
Jack was born in Flin Flon, Man. on May 17, 1936. He was raised in the Fairy Glen, Sask., where he completed his schooling.
He was employed with the railway out of Humboldt, Sask. for a short time, as well the bank in Star City, Sask., before moving to Northwestern Ontario, where he was employed with Ontario Hydro and worked as a surveyor.
He eventually joined the Ontario Provincial Police force and later the Fort Frances Police Service, where he retired as Chief of Police in 1994.
Jack and Fran made the decision to live out their retirement years in Melfort, Sask. near where he was raised. He loved to travel, and he and Fran were able to see all of Canada as well as parts of the States during their 34 years together.
They still considered the “Fort” their home, and missed their many friends and the good times they had there.
A memorial service was held Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Melfort United Church in Melfort.
In memoriam donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
