IVAN WILHELM OLSON

    Ivan Olson, 87, of Arbor Vitae, Ont., passed away Monday July 2, 2007 at the Rainy River Health Centre in Rainy River, Ont.
    Ivan was the last remaining child of Olaf and Christina Olson. He was born Aug. 26, 1919 in the same home he lived in all his life. He raised his family with his wife, Anna, on the family farm.
    He had many different jobs in his life, including trapping, farming, logging, and most recognizable being his 18 years at the local provincial  park.
    Ivan was very community-orientated and his home was not only the hub of his family, but also the community of Arbor Vitae. He welcomed everyone and always had time to visit.
    Ivan had many hobbies, but his passion was gardening.
    Ivan was predeceased by his wife, Anna (nee Pearson).
    He will be sadly missed by his family, Rose (Wally) Bilton, Sharon (Francis) Washkowsky, Melvin (Candace) Olson, Kenneth (Beverly) Olson, William (Mary Ann) Olson, and Rocky (Cindy) Olson; and lovingly remembered by 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
    Ivan also is survived by several in-laws, and many nieces and nephews.
    A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 5, 2007 at 1 p.m. at the Bergland Hall in Bergland, Ont., with lay pastor Carolyn Kreger officiating.
    Interment will take place in the Bergland Cemetery at a later date.
    The honourary pallbearers will be Brenda Fletcher, Trudy Engels, Lisa Roper, Eunice Skinner, Jennifer White, Theresa Olson, Tanya Johnson, and Amanda Olson.
