Irene Williamson

On Sunday, August 15, 1999, Irene WIlliamson passed away at the Victoria Hospital, Winnipeg.
Irene was born Sept. 11, 1906 in Clandeboye, Manitoba to Alexander and Sarah Jane McBain. She married John Clarence (Kelly) Williamson July 6, 1929, and over the years they made their home in Griswold, Clandeboye, Portage La Prairie, Winnipeg and Neepawa, Manitoba and Fort Frances, Ontario before retiring to North Vancouver in 1968. They moved back to Manitoba in 1978. She was predeceased by her husband in 1981.
Irene will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her daughter Beryl Smith and Jim of Winnipeg, Manitoba; her son Alan Williamson and Marianne of Sioux Lookout, Ontario; her grandchildren Colleen Smith and Ron, Norman Smith, Lorne Smith, Diane Kilcollins and Peter, Karen Smith, Sherril Smith and Malcolm, Robert Williamson and Jennifer, Scott Williamson and Laura; and many nieces and nephews. She was very proud of her four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Edith McAulay of Selkirk, Manitoba.
Irene very much enjoyed her friends and family and was an avid bridge player. She was a member of the St. Vital United Church and the Evergreen Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
Irene’s family extends a special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff of Unit 3 at the Victoria General Hospital. Their kindness and caring was very much appreciated.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Vital United Church, 937 St. Mary’s Road, with Reverend Peter Douglas officiating.
