IOLA PEARL SEED

Iola Pearl Seed, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2006 at Calgary’s Rockyview Hospital after a short illness.
A retired schoolteacher who began in the one-room schoolhouse days, she was a good person whose life was centered around family.
She was born in 1921 in Emo Township, Ont. In August, 1947, she was united in marriage to Gerald Seed of Black Hawk, Ont. Over the years, they resided in Fredericton, Kenora, Dryden, and Thunder Bay, and raised their family of David, Leslie Anne, and Paul.
Together they spent many happy vacations in their summer home at the Black Hawk farm. Upon retirement, they moved to Calgary, enjoying special time with their grandchildren, James, Robert, and Andrea Michelussi and Jeremy Seed.
During this time, Iola wrote a book of her poems, stories of her early life, favourite recipes, and advice to family. Its dedication read as follows:
“This book is dedicated to my first child, David, who had an idea, my second child, Leslie Anne, who liked the idea, and my third child, Paul, who had no idea I was writing it.”
She was predeceased by her parents, Forrest and Edna Lundy; brothers, Forrest, Cleland, and Gary Lundy; and sisters, Arlene Watts and Aleta McRae.
She is survived by her immediate family as above, and by brothers, Jack and Frank Lundy; sisters, Azeala McQuaker, Florence Watts, and Shirley Peters; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at a later date at the Knox United Church in Emo, Ont., with interment in the family plot at the Chapple Municipality Cemetery in Barwick, Ont.
