Ingeborg Maria Szeder (Sadjak), of Emo, Ont., was born Jan. 3 1936 in Klagenfurt, Austria.
She immigrated to Canada in 1957.
She is survived by her husband, Frank, whom she met in Tilsonburg and married in Regina in 1962; children, Monika (Dan) of Fort Frances, Ont., Frank (Eufrocina) of Emo, Ont., Stefan (Diane) of Emo, Ont., and John (Lindsay) of Davis, Calif.
She also is survived by her grandchildren, Robert (Jocelyn), Joseph, Samantha, Frankie, Carson, Brady, Parker, and Ashlyn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
As one of the largest exhibiting entrants to the Emo Fall Fair, Inge enjoyed gardening, crafting, and photography. She exhibited her zeal for life as a participant in the Horticultural Society and the Emo Women’s League, and also enjoyed carpet bowling with other seniors in Emo.
She was an avid collector who loved to travel to various locations in Canada, the U.S., Europe, and Australia.
She adopted the love of fishing while working with her husband, Frank, in the tourist industry.
She loved spending time with family and friends on the family farm north of Emo in Mather Township since 1962. Indeed, all those who came would never leave without her delicious, fresh homemade buns.
Inge’s last year was spent at Rainycrest in Fort Frances. She made many new friends of all ages and looked forward to dances on Wednesday nights and Thursday bingo.
She passed away peacefully, with members of her family nearby, in the palliative care room at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012.
Inge will be truly missed by all those who knew her. And as she loved collecting angels, we know she is surrounded by them now.
A time of fellowship was held Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo.
A gathering of family and friends is being planned in mid-summer to celebrate her life at the family farm.
If desired, in memoriam donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association, or Rainycrest Long-Term Care c/o Northridge Funeral Home, P.O. Box 89, Emo, Ont., P0W 1E0.
