Mrs. Ingeborg Maria Linnea Halverson, 94, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009.
Ingeborg (nee Hakanson) was born in Norman, Ont. on June 15, 1914 and moved to Fort Frances, Ont. in 1920.
Married to her beloved husband, Anton (Speed) in 1937, they were residents of Thunder Bay, Ont. from 1945.
Ingeborg was predeceased by her husband, Anton, in 1981; and her brother, Ernie Hakanson, in 1994.
She is survived by her son, Glenn (Deborah) and three granddaughters, Janet (Nick) Weldon, Kathryn (Curtis) Hildebrandt, and Caren Halverson (Jeffrey); sisters-in-law, Lillian Hakanson and Dorothy Halverson; brother-in-law, Chuck (Edna) Halverson; and cousins, nieces, and nephews in Thunder Bay, Fort Frances, Kenora, The Pas, and International Falls, including her beloved niece, Nancy (Dale) Krueger.
Her family and friends will miss Ingeborg dearly.
Cremation has taken place, and a family memorial service is planned for a later date.
