Hermann Frenz, 77, of Stratton, Ont., passed away at his residence on Friday, Oct. 8.
Hermann was born in Neuenhagen-Abtei, Germany on Feb. 26, 1933.
He immigrated to Canada in 1957, settling in Rainy River District. Later he moved to Red Lake, Ont. and worked as a miner for many years until his retirement.
In 1993, he moved to Stratton and remained until his passing.
Hermann was very well-liked by all his family and friends, especially for his sense of humour and his willingness to share his life experiences.
He will be fondly remembered by his love of fishing, hunting, and walking, and his favorite motto was “No Guts-No Glory.”
He survived by his sister, Maria Feist of Germany; and nephews, Werner, Erich, Hans-Juergen, Bernd, and Thomas, and nieces, Christine, Brigitte, Martina, and families.
Also survived by his cousins, Jutta and Hildegard and families; sister-in-law, Eugenie Frenz; and many good friends and neighbours.
As per Hermann’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place in Saskatoon, Sask. at a later date.
