HENRY PETE MACEDON

Henry Pete Macedon, 75, of International Falls, Mn., passed away quietly on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Sanford Medical Center in Bemidji, Mn.
He was born May 27, 1937 in Winnipeg, Man. to Mary and Peter Macedon.
He resided in Selkirk, Man., then moved to Devlin, Ont. until the passing of his father nine years later. His mother remarried in 1949 to Wilmot (Bill) Godin, briefly living in Fort Frances, Ont., before taking permanent residence in International Falls.
Henry was hired by the Minnesota and Ontario Paper Company from 1956-66. He moved briefly, living in Everett, Wash., then returned to International Falls and was rehired at Boise Cascade, Insulite Division in the Finishing/Shipping Department.
He worked in the pulp mill, retiring in 1999 from the Process Center after 32-consecutive years of service.
Henry had various skills, including working on cars (especially transmission repairs), carpentry, and tractor restoration. He also enjoyed playing on his ATV, hunting, travelling, gardening, and being with friends and family, especially his children and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his father, Peter Macedon; infant sister, Patricia Macedon; mother, Mary Godin; daughter, Tillena C. (Macedon) Foxx; sister, Eleanor S. Degagne; and step-father, Wilmot (Bill) Godin.
Henry leaves behind his children, Bonita M. Macedon of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., Harold Macedon of Los Angeles, Calif., Sheila B. Sobkowicz of Fort Frances, Ont., and Rebecca R. Kuzel of Bemidji, Mn.; and six grandchildren, Destin Legarie, Michael Sobkowicz, Jesse Kuzel, Sara Sobkowicz, Brandon Kuzel, and Christopher Sobkowicz.
He also is survived by his sisters, Christine (Rodney) Roderick of Benton City, Wash. and Carol Pigeon of Fort Frances, Ont.; brother, David Godin of Mankato, Mn.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in International Falls.
Interment will be at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in International Falls.
