Henri Pierre LeMaire, 89, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away at his residence Monday, Feb. 1, 1999.
He was born Nov. 13, 1909 in Indonesia.
Henri had worked as a boiler engineer in the building industry. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in Indonesia and Burma.
Henri was united in marriage Dec. 3, 1937 to the former Willemina Brinkman, who predeceased him Feb. 16, 1998.
He is survived by two daughters, Elly (Derek) deGraff of Winnipeg, Man., and Mary LeMaire of Rodney, Ont. Also surviving are five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Luke, Renee, and Bep of the Netherlands; and one brother, Huib LeMaire and wife, Liz, of London, Ont.
Cremation has taken place in Thunder Bay, Ont.
At Henri’s request, there will be no funeral service.
