Helen Labatch, of R.R.#2, Emo, Ont., passed away peacefully on Jan. 29, 2008 at the Riverside health care facility in Emo at the age 81.
Helen was born March 25, 1926 in Chapple Township to the late Charles and Emily Labatch.
She was a very hard-working and independent women. She resided for 44 years at her home on Off Lake Road, only a short distance from where she was born.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Judy Labatch of Vanderhoof, B.C.; granddaughters, Shana Schwentner (Justin) of Fort St. James, B.C. and Melanie Labatch (Shane) of Prince George, B.C.; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Brandon, Christopher, Danika, and Myles; and great-great-grandchild, Nolan.
She also is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many lifelong friends.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Emily; sisters, Mary Dimit, Annie Norris, and Elsie Boucha; brothers, Frank and Albert Labatch; and niece, Helen Boucha.
A memorial service was held Sunday, July 27, 2008 at her Off Lake Road home, with Pastor Ken Johnson officiating.
Interment took place in Kingsford Cemetery in Kingsford Township, Ont.
