Born Dec. 31, 1932 in Bergland, Ont., Harvey and his family moved to Crow Lake at the age of five, where his father established Halverson’s Resort.
Harvey was employed for many years in the logging industry. In 1967, Harvey, Esther and girls moved to Kenora, where he joined in partnership to establish Kenora Machine Service. In 1977, he purchased Bill’s Towing Service, which he operated until retiring in 1991.
Harvey and Esther spent their time between their house in Kenora and their “camp cabin cottage” at Crow Lake. His greatest loves were hunting, fishing, and his family. He will be greatly missed.

“Ode to Crow Lake”
Your mystery hangs like a mantle
Upon your waters,
Beautiful and blue,
Where contentment starts each day.
Your magic weaves a spell
That binds me day by day.
Then one last look
And I must go away.
Until another time.
