Harry Zub

Harry Zub, 81, a resident of Falls Good Samaritan Center in International Falls, Mn., passed away Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001 at his residence.
Born Nov. 27, 1919 at Fort Frances, Ont., he grew up there but moved to International Falls in the 1940s. He also served in the Royal Canadian Army, stationed in Winnipeg.
On Nov. 28, 1947, he married the former Lila Gay “Sally” Pettis at Fort Frances.
He was employed in the beater room at Boise Cascade, and was a member of the Can-Am CB Club and Rainy River Riders Saddle Club. He loved dancing, fishing and hunting, and had played Santa Claus for 30 years.
He and his wife took care of 32 foster children.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sally; parents, John and Katrina Zub; sister, Nettie Galandz; and brothers, Alex and Mike.
Survivors include two brothers, Edward and Roy Zub of Fort Frances, Ont.; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral is planned for Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Evangelical Covenant Church. Interment will be at St. Thomas Cemetery.
