It is with great sadness, the family of Gwendolyn (Gwen) Rosemarie Perlette (nee Houck) announces her peaceful passing at Rainycrest Long-Term Care Home in Fort Frances on February 26, 2022.
Gwen was born near Fort Frances on July 7, 1937, to Mervyn and Blanche Houck.
Gwen married Bill (William) Perlette Aug. 15, 1961, and welcomed their daughter AnnMarie into their family in January 1970. As a family they purchased a piece of property in Black Sturgeon Bay on Rainy Lake. They spent most weekends and vacation time there and loved the lake and serenity it brought. It was a gathering place for friends and family alike.

Gwen worked for many years as an insurance broker for Cousineau Insurance before their move to Dryden in 1980 where she continued her career at Skillen Squire Insurance. Gwen and Bill returned to Fort Frances on 1997 where she took a position with Causeway Insurance until her retirement in 2001 following Bill’s death. Gwen was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxillary in Fort Frances and Dryden. Gwen also was a very active member in the Lions Club in Dryden. She valued the relationships she made the activities that she took part in and service to her community.
Gwen was survived by her daughter AnnMarie (Edwin) Gouliquer of Atikokan; granddaughters Alyssa Perlette (Luke Simmons) of Fort Frances, Chantele Gouliquer (Matt Petram) of LaBroquerie Man., and Kaitlyn Gouliquer student at University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alta.; great-grandsons Wyatt Hayes Perlette and Levi Simmons of Fort Frances.
Gwen was predeceased by her husband of 40 years Bill (William) Perlette; parents Blanche and Mervyn Houck; siblings Lorraine Stevenson (Steve), Darlene Woods (Gandy), Mervyn Houck, Michaeline Frennette, Lala Gail Pikowski and John (Dennis) Pikowski
A graveside service will be held at a later date in the spring at the Riverview Cemetery, Fort Frances, Ontario.
