GURLIE ELLEN CHRISTIANSEN

In loving memory of Gurlie Ellen Christiansen, age 69, of Fort Frances, Ont., who passed away on Monday, Aug. 20, 2001 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Gurlie was born on March 12, 1932 to Uno and Ellen Odahl in Fort Frances, Ont. She attended school here and graduated from the Fort Frances High School. She was united in marriage to Harold Christiansen on Sept. 20, 1952.
Gurlie worked for the O & M Paper Mill and the Board of Education as a bookkeeper. She was very involved in the Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed travelling, bowling, crocheting, crafts and Petit Point.
Gurlie is survived by her husband Harold Christiansen, daughter, Ellen McKinnon; son, David Christiansen and friend, Janet Ellis; grandchildren, Michael McKinnon and Tyler Christiansen; brothers-in-law, Walter Christiansen, Robert Christiansen, Ernest (Florence) Christiansen; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Taylor, Ingrid Christiansen, and Nancy Lavigne and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Kristen Ellen McKinnon; parents Uno and Ellen Odahl; brother, Oswald Odahl; nephew, Brad Odahl; father and mother-in-law, John and Anna Christiansen; sisters-in-law, Edith Berg, Donna Little, Inga Pearson, Alphild Christiansen, Irene Christiansen, Nettie Christiansen and Margaret Christiansen; brothers-in-law, Henry and George Christiansen; niece Nettie Pearson, and cousins, Holge Blomquist and Ellen Brady.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Frances, Ont., with Pastor Brian Keffer officiating.
Cremation has taken place at the Riverside Crematorium in Thunder Bay, Ont. with interment in the La Verendrye Columbarium at Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances, Ont.
The honourary pallbearers will be Marie Spuzak, Alice Ossachuk, Sigrid Mosley, Betty Martinson, and Carolyn Taylor.
