GREGORY (‘MEECH’) (‘IGGY’) SPOON

It is with great sadness that the family of Gregory (“Meech”) (“Iggy”) Spoon announces his passing on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in Toronto, Ont.
Gregory was born on Monday, March 18, 1968 in Fort Frances, Ont.
He was an artist who did portraits, landscapes, and tribal art, and was also a tattoo artist. He moved to Toronto in the late 1990s, where he made many friends through his work.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Josh Tucker (Roxy), and granddaughter, Oasis Tucker.
He also will be greatly missed by his mother, Rosie Spencer and siblings, Marcel John Spoon, Monty Spoon Jr., Jan B. Spoon, Darren Spoon (Wendy), Laverne Spoon, Valerie Mainville (Eugene Ashawee), Nathan Boshkaykin (Roberta), Fred Boshkaykin, Marcie Spoon, Janet Spoon, and Tina Boshkaykin.
Also surviving are aunts and uncles on the Spoon and Spencer sides; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends from all walks of life.
Gregory was predeceased by his father, Mountie Spoon; and his sister, Cindy Spoon.
A traditional funeral service was held Monday, March 23, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Seine River First Nation gymnasium.
Elder Andrew Johnson officiated, followed by interment in the Seine River First Nation Cemetery.
The pallbearers were all of Gregory’s friends and relatives.
The honourary pallbearers were Paul Simon, Thea, James Smith, Jan B. Spoon, Norma Jean Spencer, and Donna Jean Yerxa.
