Gordon Charles “Gord” Ogden, 56, of 186 Eighth St. W., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away suddenly in Fort Frances on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002.
He was born in Fort Frances on Dec. 15, 1946.
He was a graduate of Fort Frances High School and had worked as a loans manager for a number of years, including several years in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
He and his wife, the former Marian Gushulak, to whom he had been united in marriage on Feb. 10, 1968, returned to reside in Fort Frances in 1989 following the tragic loss of their young daughter, Krista, in 1988.
While in Fort Frances, Gord had been employed at several locations.
Gord enjoyed all sports, especially curling, and would always enjoy any fishing or boating opportunities.
He also was very proud of his model car collection, and would spend hours making sure every detail was perfect before any project was considered complete and ready to display.
Surviving family include his wife, Marian; mother, Loretta; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides Krista, he also was predeceased by his father, Roy, in 1979; and two sisters, Lois Cain and Bev Papich.
A memorial mass will be held Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, with Fr. Rey Ronquillo officiating.
Honourary pallbearers will be all of Gord’s family and friends.
If friends and family so desire, in memoriam donations may be directed to either the Kenora-Rainy River Lung Association, Box 67, Kenora, Ont., P9N 3X4, or to Amethyst House/Northern Cancer Research Foundation, 290 Munro St., Thunder Bay, Ont., P7A 7T1.
