It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that the family of Glenda McGregor announces her passing on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016.
Glenda was born Feb. 27, 1946 in Fort Frances, Ont. to Glen and Gladys Steele. She grew up in the west end of Fort Frances and was a graduate of Fort Frances High School.
Glenda was married to the love of her life, Neil McGregor, on Aug. 16, 1969 and they chose to reside in Thunder Bay, Ont.
Glenda graduated from the McKellar School of Nursing in 1966 and enjoyed a successful career in nursing that lasted an amazing 42 years. Glenda worked in several hospitals in Fort Frances, Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Thunder Bay.
She is fondly remembered by every co-worker and countless patients, who all were touched by her genuine kindness and compassion.
Glenda had a stunning smile and possessed such a pleasant personality; she lifted the spirits of everyone around her. She spent her entire life putting the needs of others far ahead of her own and helped so many people through the most difficult of times.
Glenda cherished all of her relationships with family and friends, and especially enjoyed the time she spent with family at the island on Rainy Lake.
Glenda is survived by her husband, Neil; nephews, John, Paul, and Bob Steele and their families; sisters-in-law, Loretta Hill, Nadine Element, and Cheryl McGregor; nieces, Miranda and Melissa Hill, and Jenny Pert-Wesley; and nephews, Lyle and Kenny Pert.
Glenda was predeceased by her parents, Glen and Gladys Steele; sister, Pam Steele; and brothers, Mervyn and Tom Steele.
A private celebration of Glenda’s life will take place at a later date.
