Glen Treflin, 59, of 906 Fourth St. E., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances after a long battle with cancer.
He was born June 21, 1951 in Rainy River, Ont. to Leonard and Frances (Desrosier) Treflin.
On June 3, 1978, Glen was united in marriage to Kathy (Meek) Treflin.
Glen began work early in life, guiding in the Morson area, before driving a logging truck for several years. In 1974, he began a career with Canada Customs that kept him busy until 1996, when he and his family purchased Northern Lite Camp and began to make their mark in the tourist industry.
His time with the camp allowed him to enjoy his pastimes of fishing, hunting, and talking with the guys at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #29, where he was an active member.
He was predeceased by his father, Leonard Treflin.
Glen is survived by his mother, Frances Treflin, wife, Kathy Treflin, daughter, Tracy (Travis) Treflin, and son, Bryan Treflin, all of Fort Frances, Ont.; one sister, Maxine (Kim) Hannam of Winnipeg, Man.; and nephews, Matthew Hannam of Toronto, Ont. and Elliot Hannam of Winnipeg, Man.
Cremation will take place at Rainy River Cremation Services in International Falls, Mn.
Memorial services will be held Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Fr. Francis Pudicherry officiating.
The honourary pallbearers will be Glen’s family and friends.
A luncheon will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #29 in Fort Frances.
