GLEN ALBERT MEDICINE (Mizhakono-giizhik Maang Clan)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Glen Albert Medicine, on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at his residence at Rainy River First Nation, Ont.
Glen was born Jan. 10, 1958 in Emo, Ont. to the late Donald and Betty Medicine. Glen lived in both Emo and Fort Frances, Ont. over the years.
On Jan. 28, 2000, he was united in marriage to Cindy Lou Smith, and together raised their family.
Glen worked at Manitou Forest Products for a number of years. He lived his life upon traditional values, and enjoyed attending community pow-wows and traditional food with family and friends.
At home, he like to spend time working on his computer.
Glen missed family he was unable to visit due to distances. His family meant everything to him, and he loved to play and spend time with his grandchildren.
He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
Glen is survived by his wife, Cindy Lou Medicine; sons, Sean Smith and Danielle Leonard, and Joshua Smith and Star Hawk, and daughter, Sherri Smith, all of Rainy River First Nation, Ont.; and four grandchildren, Shanelle, Paris, Tobin, and Shiloh.
He also is survived by three brothers, Arnold Medicine, and Sidney Medicine and wife, Wendy, all of Brandon, Man., and Tim Medicine and wife, Angie Jim, of Seine River First Nation, Ont.; one sister, Leta Medicine of Brandon, Man.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one brother, Dale Medicine, and one uncle, Eddy Medicine.
A traditional burial service to celebrate Glen’s life will be held Friday, May 28, 2010 in the morning at the Rainy River First Nation gymnasium.
Elder Gilbert Smith will officiate, with burial in Rainy River First Nation Cemetery.
A wake will be held Thursday evening at the Rainy River First Nation gymnasium.
The pallbearers will be Sidney Medicine, Joshua Smith, Stafford Hawk, Paul Hawk, Myron Medicine, and Gordon Kelly.
