GLADYS EVELYN BOLTON

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Gladys Evelyn Bolton (Carnduff) on Monday, July 27, 2004. She was born December 3, 1907 in Carnduff, Saskatchewan to Richard and Henrietta Carnduff.
She spent her early life in Carnduff surrounded by her family. She came to Fort Frances in 1932 to help her sister Lucy with her new baby. At this time she met Marshall Bolton and they married in 1934.
Together they raised four daughters in Fort Frances. They spent many years enjoying time on Woodchuck Island with their children and grandchildren.
Gladys enjoyed knitting, reading and playing cards. She kept her grandchildren supplied with mittens, scarves, slippers and afghans. She loved to bake and always had sweets on hand and occasionally made the best homemade bread. She loved driving around town in her car.
In later years, Gladys and her best friend, Nell Grant, were constant companions and were always out daily, getting groceries and going for coffee. They regularly spent time at the Rendez-Vous and McDonalds.
She kept active until her early 90’s when she entered Rainycrest.
She was predeceased by her husband, Marshall, in 1979, her parents, Richard and Henrietta Carnduff, and her siblings; Victor, Edward. Clifford, Norman, Wesley and Cecil Carnduff, Lucy Stewart and Maude Smeeth, and her granddaughter, Cheryl Lynne Wasykowski.
She is survived by her daughters; Donna (Bill) Wasykowski, Joan (Chuck) Westover, Marlene (Bob) Lowry and Shirley (Barry) Gaylord; 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren as well as many special nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.
Honourary pallbearers are; Chuck Westover, Bill Wasykowski, Bob Lowry, Barry Gaylord, John Wasykowski, Robert Wasykowski, Dale Westover, Nancy Westover, Scott Westover, Cindy Lowry, Debbie Lowry, Shelley Brooke, Mike Westover, Pamela Curtis and Kevin Gaylord.
If friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to St. John’s Anglican Church.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 30, 2004, St. John’s Anglican Church at 2 p.m. with Father Wayne McIntosh officiating.
