It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Gladys Ann Tremblay peacefully at her home on Friday, March 18, 2011.
Gladys was born on March 21, 1939 in Rainy River, Ont. to the late Matt and Mae Tremblay.
She grew up in Rainy River, and had also lived in Atikokan and Fort Frances, Ont.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Cindy (Scott Little) Thomson and Arlin (Shelley) Hanninen, all of Fernie, B.C., Derin Hanninen, Jodie Hanninen, and Jamie (Beth) Hanninen, all of Winnipeg, Man.; and their father, Clifford Hanninen of Atikokan, Ont.
Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren, Rikki and Tara Thomson of Thunder Bay, Ont., Jennifer and Dustin Hayes of Lethbridge, Alta., Brittany (Kristian Warner) Hanninen of Port Hardy, B.C., and Derin Hanninen Jr. (Erin Pidlubny) of Winnipeg, Man.; sister, Bunny; brothers, Richard (Ilene) Tremblay of Port Alberni, B.C. and Floyd Tremblay of Vancouver, B.C., Fawn and Michael Bridgeman; great-grandchildren, Liam, Delaney, Sadie, and Jack; as well as nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Matt and Mae Tremblay; son, Barry Joe Hanninen; and sister-in-law, Isabelle Tremblay.
Cremation has taken place.
A family graveside service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances at a later date.
