GISLI MAGNUS “GUS” ANDERSON

Gisli Magnus “Gus” Anderson, 92, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at his residence. He was born Oct. 17, 1913 in Churchbridge, Sask. to the late Ole and Jona Anderson.
Gus was a self-employed carpenter and contractor, and also had worked for the Canadian National Railway and Ontario Hydro for several years. He retired in 1978 at the age of 65.
He had attended the Church of the Lutheran Hour in Fort Frances.
Gus is survived by his children, Shirley (Robert) Klaas of Fort Frances, Ont., Oliver (Judy) Anderson of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Helen (Mike) Andrusco of Fort Frances, Ont.
Also surviving is his former wife, Gertrude Anderson, of Fort Frances, Ont.; seven grandchildren, Stephen (Shelley) Gosselin, Lori (Dennis) Wood, Michael (Michelle) Anderson, and Krista Anderson and fiance, Phil, all of Thunder Bay, Ont., Michael (Carrie) Andrusco of Cochrane, Alta., Benjamin (Sherry) Andrusco of the Cayman Islands, and Anthony (Wendy) Andrusco of London, England; eight great-grandchildren, Mathew and Jennifer Gosselin, Michael, John, and Grace Andrusco, Neil and Stephen Anderson, and Olivia Wood; sister, Arna Middleton of Edmonton, Alta.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by parents, Ole and Jona Anderson; sisters, Lena Freed and Inga Smith; brothers, John, Andrew, and Ollie; and sister-in-law, Mary.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 19, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Pastor Sandy McEvoy will officiate, with interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Friends may visit prior to the funeral service at Green Funeral Home.
The pallbearers will be Stephen Gosselin, Michael Anderson, Benjamin Andrusco, Anthony Andrusco, Lori Wood, and Krista Anderson.
