On Sunday, March 21, 1999, Gerald Ryan passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg, Man. He was born March 25, 1930 in St. Vital, man.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Aileen; son, Warren; daughter, Linda; son-in-law, David (Turgeon); and grandchildren, Matheson, MacKenzie, and Lindsey Dale.
He also is survived by his sister, Audrey (Doug) Pattison of Aurora, Ont.; brothers, Stanley (Hazel) Ryan of Edmonton, Alta., Kenneth (Norma) Ryan of Toronto, Ont., and Lorne (Diane) Ryan of Hornepayne, Ont.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Marion (Bowness); and brothers, Ralph and Wesley.
Gerald began his career as a policeman in Port Arthur, Ont. in 1952. He also served in Sioux Lookout, East Kildonan, and Winnipeg until his retirement in 1984.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 27, 1999 at 2 p.m. at the Klassen Funeral Chapel (1897 Henderson Highway) in Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Society.
