George Ralph Broeffle, 65 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, Ont., passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012.
George was a proud member of Seine River First Nation, spending many happy years there working as the band manager. Before and since, he remained active as a business consultant, maintaining his passion for assisting the youth of his community in any way he could.
His focus always was on his family and loved ones, being there for them whether as a mentor and guide, a confidante, or simply as a friend.
George will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his soulmate and friend, Laurie Komar (nee Forsythe); his Aunt Ida of Seine River First Nation, his Aunt Ethel of Thunder Bay, Ont., and his Aunt Nora of Kamloops, B.C.; along with many cousins and numerous half-brothers and sisters, including, but not limited to, Ernest Boucher (Sandy), Sandi Boucher, and Robert Boucher, all of Thunder Bay, Ont.; and by his one and only son, Anthony Broeffle of St. Thomas, Ont.
George was predeceased by his father, George Broeffle Sr.; mother, Alma Boucher (nee Godin); stepfather, Leo Boucher; and numerous aunts and uncles who are no doubt waiting to welcome him home.
A funeral wake will be held Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 at 3 p.m. at the Seine River First Nation gymnasium, with a traditional service to take place Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at 9 a.m.
