GEORGE MAITLAND SKINNER

Mr. George Maitland Skinner, 69, passed away Friday, June 30, 2000 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
George was predeceased by his wife, Betty; parents, James and Flora Skinner; brothers, Bruce and John; and sisters, Beatrice, Elma, and Katherena.
He is survived by numerous extended family and friend, Shirley Lind, and her family.
George was born Oct. 21, 1930 on the family farm in Saskatchewan and moved to Emo in 1937. He worked on the family farm for many years, and after moving into Emo, worked as a caretaker at Queen Street Manor for several years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. George also was a member of the Emo Royal Canadian Legion Br. #99.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, July 4, 2000 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Elaine Frazer officiating.
Cremation has taken place at Riverside Crematorium in Thunder Bay, Ont. and George’s cremated remains will be interred with his parents in the Emo Cemetery in Emo, Ont.
