GENE STOLTZFUS

Riding his beloved motor-assisted bicycle on a spring weather afternoon less than a kilometre from home, Gene Stoltzfus completed his journey on Earth on Wednesday, March 10, 2010.
He was born Feb. 1, 1940.
He had yearned and worked for peace and justice around the world every day, and he did that with a joyful heart and a sense of humour and deep appreciation for his many co-workers.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Dorothy Friesen, of Fort Frances, Ont.; his three brothers and one sister, all in the United States; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Gene’s life will be held Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Knox United Church in Emo, Ont. (3 Roy St.), followed by ice cream, Gene’s favourite food, and informal sharing.
Gene was the founding director of Christian Peace Maker Teams (CPT) for 18 years.
In memoriam donations may be mailed to CPT, 25 Cecil St., Unit 307, Toronto, Ont., M5T 1N1 or online at cpt.org, or to Oshki Aa-yaa’aag Mino Bimaadiziiwin (Good Life for Young People) Foundation at P.O. Box 30, Emo, Ont., P0W1E0.
