GARY EDWARD DOMANSKI

It is with great sadness that the family of Gary Domanski announces his sudden passing on Sunday, April 24, 2011 in Fort Frances, Ont.
Gary was born March 4, 1947 in Port Arthur, Ont. As a young boy, he moved to Fort Frances with his family, where he attended St. Mary’s School and Fort Frances High School.
After graduating, Gary attended Moorhead State. Upon graduation, he returned to Fort Frances, taking employment with the local paper mill, working in stores, payroll, and later as an accountant on capital projects.
After retiring in 2002, Gary was able to enjoy travelling and relished his walks on the beautiful beaches of Lovers Key, Fla.
An avid sportsman, Gary enjoyed fishing, hunting, and curling. He was an early riser who made the most of every day. If he wasn’t out fishing, he could be found working around the house, helping others out, or relaxing while solving Sudoku puzzles.
Gary will forever be remembered by his beloved wife of more than 40 years, Georgianne; treasured daughter; Andrea; caring parents, Edward and Claudia Domanski; dear brothers- and sisters-in-law, Joyce (Jim) Strachan, Dianne Halvorson, Marian Ogden, William (Ingrid) Gushulak, Don (Trish) Gushulak, Joan (Dwayne) Laughren, and JoAnne Anderson; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends whom were blessed to know him.
Gary touched the lives of many people with his trademark sense of humour and his generosity.
A memorial mass will be held Friday, April 29, 2011 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances, with Fr. Francis Pudicherry officiating.
If friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 920 Frenette Ave., Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3R1 or the charity of your choice c/o Green Funeral Home, P.O. Box 427, Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3M8.
