Mrs. Gail Viklen (nee Black), 53, a resident of Jewel Street in Thunder Bay, Ont., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998 after a short, courageous battle with cancer.
Gail was very involved with her church work at the Shuniah Knox United Church. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Emergency at both St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Port Arthur General Hospital, and in Pediatrics in St. Joseph’s Care Group.
She enjoyed time with her family, the outdoors, camping, music, and curling at the Port Arthur Curling Club.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Kevin (Barb), Jeremy, Darren, Robin, and Leah; her mother, Elaine Black; grandchildren, William and Rachel; sisters, Karen (Jim) Jackson, and Terry Lynn Drever; mother-in-law, Vi Viklen; as well as numerous other relatives.
She was predeceased by her father, George Black of Barwick, Ont.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998 at Knox United with Rev. D. Silliman officiating. Cremation will follow.
