GAIL GERLACH

Gail Patricia Gerlach, 62, of International Falls, Mn., passed away Monday, Dec. 8, 2003 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, Mn.
She was born Feb. 18, 1941 at Ericsburg, Mn., but moved to International Falls in 1945 and graduated from Falls High School in 1959.
She was united in marriage to A1C David A. Grover on June 18, 1960, who predeceased her on Dec. 13, 1978. Together, they had lived on several air force bases throughout the United States.
In 1983, she married Dennis Vance for a short time.
Gail graduated from Bemidji State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work and Chemical Dependency Counselling in 1988.
Gail was a member of the Borderland Art Society, the Falls Art Club, Citizens for Backus, VFW Women’s Auxiliary (life member), the Minnesota State Board of Health, and the Human Resources Chemical Dependency Evaluation Committee.
Gail worked as a chemical dependency counsellor at the Pineview Regional Recovery Center for several years.
She was predeceased by her father, Francis Gerlach; mother, Vivian Loveland; husband, David Grover; ex-husband Dennis Vance, and two brothers, Francis and Norman Gerlach.
Gail is survived by a son, David Grover of International Fall, Mn., daughter, Denise Brunette of International Falls, Mn.; stepsons, Steve Vance of Littlefork, Mn., and Michael Vance and Robert Vance, of Minneapolis, Mn.; and grandchildren, Aaron Brunette, James Brunette, and Emily Grover.
Also surviving are her brothers, John (Ingrid) Gerlach of St. Peter, Mn., and Kim (Kris) Gerlach of Cleveland, Mn.; sisters, Virginia (Roger) Bolstad of International Falls, Mn., and Mohrghaine (Gary Gable) Gaia of Minneapolis, Mn.; and sister-in law, Betty Gerlach of Hastings, Mn.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003 at 12:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in International Falls, with Harold Schumacher and Rev. Fr. Tom Meyer, OMI officiating.
