FREDERICK WILLIAM HELE WENSLEY

Frederick William Hele Wensley, 87, of Parksville, B.C., passed away in Nanaimo Regional Hospital on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001.
Fred was born in Wensley, Ont. on Oct. 14, 1914 but the family moved to Sleeman, Ont. when he was a baby. He attended normal school in North Bay, Ont. and taught school several years in Rainy River District.
Fred then moved to Nestor Falls, Ont. in 1936 and built a tourist camp, which he operated until 1958. He later moved to Red Lake, Ont. in 1966 and lived there until 1979, when he moved to Parksville.
Fred was united in marriage to Helen Paulson of Spohn, Ont. on Aug. 19, 1936.
He is survived by his loving wife, Helen; four sons, Ronald (Polly) of Nanaimo, B.C.; Allan (Bernice) of Atikokan, Ont., Dennis (Betty) and David, both of Parksville, B.C.; two daughters, Sandra (Jack) of Thunder Bay, Ont. and Catherine (Marcel) of Wawa, Ont.; 18 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by one son, Brian, in 1978.
A memorial service was held Monday, Dec. 17, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall, 1069 Smithers Rd., Parksville, B.C.
