FREDERICK CHARLES SEXTON

Frederick Charles Sexton, a resident of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, Fort Frances, Ont., passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, June 7, 2001.
Fred was born May 21, 1924 in La Vallee, Ont. to Arthur (Ted) Sexton and Mary Lavinnia Sexton (Gadd).
He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Jessie Fulton; and four brothers-in-law, Floyd Linquist, Lawrence LaRocque, Jack Fulton, and Carl Anderson.
He is survived by brother, Arthur Sexton (Olga) of Courtney, B.C.; sisters, Clarissa Linquist of Hope, B.C., and Vera LaRocque and Ruth Anderson, both of Fort Frances, Ont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He served during World War II in the Canadian Navy. Upon his discharge, he was employed by the Department of Highways until his retirement.
A quiet man, he lived peacefully among his neighbours–never finding cause to criticize or complain. His sense of humour remained intact until the end. He found contentment in music and books, and his favourite TV programs.
He was a member of Knox United Church, where he attended faithfully until ill health confined him to his home.
The family recognizes with gratitude the special care given by Dr. Algie during Fred’s illness. They also wish to express appreciation to the staff at Rainycrest for the kindness and compassion with which they served his needs, and to Rev. Patrick Playfair for his comforting ministry.
Grateful mention is made of Fred’s special niece and nephew, Elaine and Jack Allen, and their sons, Jeffrey and Clarke, whose devoted care and concern so often brought pleasure and comfort during his long illness.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 12, 20001 at 2 p.m. at Knox United Churc, with Rev. Patrick Playfair officiating. Visitation will commence at 1 p.m. at the church.
Interment to follow in the Riverview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jack Allen, Clarke Allen, Bill Gadd, Don Kinnear, Len LaRocque, and Ellis Williams.
