Frans Ludvig Hahr entered into eternal rest in his 95th year at the Sundre Hospital in Sundre, Alta. on Friday, Feb. 25, 2000.
Frans is survived by his wife, Olga Maria (Persson); son, Alf and wife, Irene, of Sundre, Alta.; daughter, Ann Moore and husband, Bill, of Lynden, Ont.; grandchildren, Anne Marie, Dawn, Dennis, Kim, Kelly, Thesa, Ron, and Dan; great-grandchildren, Jenny, Andrea, Tara-Lynn, Kelsie, Angie, Jessie, Bobby, and Cheryl; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Frans emigrated from Sweden as a young man and spent most of his life in Rainy River District. In his early years, he worked in lumber camps and tourist camps. Later, he was employed by Mando paper mill in Fort Frances, Ont. for many years.
During his retirement, he enjoyed many hours at his beloved cottage (Sunset Hahr-bor on Footprint Lake), enjoying time with family and friends, fishing, boating, gardening, sea-dooing, and enjoying nature.
He and his wife also spent four years in Comox, B.C., and lived in Sundre since 1990.
Frnas will be lovingly remembered for his sense of humour by all who knew him. May he rest in peace after “fighting the good fight.”

A memorial funeral service was held Wednesday, March 1, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Sundre, with Pastor A.V. Granberg officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
