FRANCIS TIMOTHY (KELLY) CALLAGHAN

The family of the late Francis Timothy (Kelly) Callaghan announce his passing on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
He was born on Feb. 8, 1916 in Canora, Sask. to the late Timothy and Mary Callaghan. Frank moved to Fort Frances in 1924 with his family. He joined the Air Force during World War II, and served with the armed services overseas until his discharge at the end of the war. Following his discharge at the end of the war, Frank returned to Fort Frances where he was employed at the Ontario and Minnesota Pulp and Paper Mill until his retirement in 1981.
Frank loved to hunt and fish, and spend a lot of his time at Clearwater, guiding at Jim Hayes Camp.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 29 in Fort Frances.
The family includes his wife, Mary Callaghan of Fort Frances, Ont., daughters, Linda and husband, Cors Verhage of Peachland, B.C., Debra and kevin Rambo of Int’l. Falls, Mn., Leann and Greg Bombay of Manitou Rapids First Nation, Ont., and Patti and Fred Lane of Fort Frances, Ont..; stepdaughter, Carolyn Murray of Fort Frances, Ont.; several grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; two step great-granddaughters; two step great-grandsons; his best friend, Ed Gladu of Fort Frances, Ont.; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by four brothers, Wesley, Leonard, Dan and Eddie; two sisters, Viola and Guila; and two sons, Frankie and Gary.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, Ont., with Pastor Ken Johnson officiating. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances, Ont., at a later date. The Royal Canadian Legion Br. 29 will provide a military tribute during the service.
Honourary pallbearers will be Kevin Callaghan, Ed Gladu, Kevin Rambo, Greg Bombay, Fred Lane and Chad Blackburde.
Should family and friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the Kenora-Rainy River Lung Association, Box 67, Kenora, Ontario, P9N 3X4.
