Floyd Ernest Georgeson, beloved husband and father of Devlin, Ont., went to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Monday, Aug. 4, 2014 after a short battle with cancer.
Floyd was born Oct. 23, 1941 in Emo, Ont. to Ernest and Madeleine Georgeson, and grew up on the Georgeson family farm that was homesteaded by his grandparents.
He is survived by his siblings, Constance Sinclair, Joe (Shari) Georgeson, Janet (Kent) Johnson, and Dan Georgeson.
Floyd married Joyce Pattimore on May 4, 1968 in Winnipeg, Man. and they treasured the 46 years of walking hand in hand through his life.
He also will be greatly missed by his sons, Ernest (Darla) Georgeson and their children, Amy and Victoria, and Jeff (Betty-Anne) Georgeson and their children, Ashley and Aria, Eric, and Thomas; his daughters, Rebecca Georgeson and Chelsey Smith; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
They also opened their home to numerous foster children over the years.
Floyd was known for his love for Jesus, his tender heart, his passion for his family, and his great work ethic.
A memorial service was held Friday, Aug. 8, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Christian Reform Church in Emo.
Interment took place in Barwick Cemetery.
