FLORENCE ALICE WATSON

Florence Alice Watson (nee MacDonald), of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away suddenly in her home on Monday, May 3, 2010.
Florence was born on May 4, 1926 in Sleeman, Ont. to the late Minnie and William MacDonald, and was the third of eight children.
She met and married Melvin Watson on De. 22, 1944. They moved to Calm Lake in 1950. This is where mom’s love of fishing came from.
When she wasn’t fishing, or picking blueberries, or canning, or baking bread, and raising her six children, she drove school bus.
The family moved back to Fort Frances in 1964, then to Crozier in 1974.
Mom was predeceased by one son, James Melvin Craig (Beaver); her husband, Melvin; one sister; and two brothers.
She is survived by her five children, Kieth Watson, Wayne Watson (Dixie), Fern Martin (Earl), Cheryl Beadle (Terry), and Dennis Watson.
Florence also will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Brian Watson, Corey Watson, Robert Watson (Sherry), Trevor Martin (Lynn), Tracy Martin, Kim Brownrigg (Alan), Clinton Beadle (Vanessa), Christy Leahey (Shaun), Courtney Beadle (Bryan), Ben Watson (Kate), Rachel Watson (Jim), and Jessica Watson; and great-grandchildren, Jamie, Jordan, Kayden, Emma, Dylan, Zack, Ethan, and Esau.
Also surviving are her sisters, Evelyn Crawford, Shirley Halverson, and Verna Stephenson; brother, Cammy MacDonald; sister-in-law, Lorraine MacDonald; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 7, 2010 at 3 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Fort Frances, with President Gerald Fisk and President Leonard Renchard officiating.
Visitation was held one hour prior to service.
Interment was in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
The pallbearers were Florence’s grandsons and the honourary pallbearers were her granddaughters.
