It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Gauthier. Mark, in his 67th year, passed away at home in Fort Frances, Ontario, on September 22, 2025.
Mark was born in South Porcupine, Ontario, on July 23, 1959. Mark predeceased by his father Donald Gauthier and his beloved wife, Mary Lou McIntosh. He is survived by his two brothers Chris and Phil Gauthier and his children Amanda, Adam and Aaron, who were the pride of his life and will all miss him deeply.

Throughout his life, Mark’s career journey was as varied as it was colourful. He worked deep in the mines of Northern Ontario, as a train mechanic and served as an ambulance attendant in multiple locations which lead him to settle down in Simcoe, Ontario. Mark changed careers to work as a general contractor, and later he ventured into entrepreneurship. His diverse career path reflected his willingness to take on challenges and his commitment to making a difference in whatever field he pursued.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 15, 2025, at 2 – 4 p.m. the Royal Canadian Legion in Simcoe to honour and remember Mark’s remarkable life.
