FELIX SEGUIN

In loving memory of Felix Seguin, 84, of Pinewood, Ont., who passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001 at the Rainy River Hospital in Rainy River, Ont.
Felix was born Nov. 12, 1916 in Nelles Township, Ont. to the late Francois Xavier and Emelie Seguin. He grew up in the Pinewood area farming with his family.
Felix served overseas in World War II, staying after the war had ended to help rebuild bridges. He later worked at Uniroyal Tire in Dryden, Ont. and at the local tire shop in Atikokan, Ont. before returning to Pinewood, where he farmed and worked in the bush.
He loved the outdoors, gardening, and growing roses. He also enjoyed playing cards, watching baseball, and hockey.
He was united in marriage to Florise Larocque on June 25, 1951.
Felix was predeceased by his wife, Florise, on Aug. 31, 1972; his parents, Francois Xavier and Emelie; six brothers; and seven sisters.
He is survived by his children, Ernie (Elizabeth) of Sioux Lookout, Ont., Claude (Cathy) of Rainy River, Ont., and Fern (Dale Ossachuk), Dave (Grace), and Bert (Sharon Birnie), all of Pinewood, Ont.; grandchildren, Tom, Tyler, Randy, Jason, Audrey (Shane Brown), Mitchell, Nicole, and Dayna Seguin, and Cody Ossachuk; great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Stephan Brown; sister, Leona Fredrickson of Atikokan, Ont.; and by numerous extended family.
A prayer service was held Friday, Oct. 26, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Way Roman Catholic Church in Pinewood, with Father James Panikulam officiating. The Royal Canadian Legion (Major Hughes Branch) of Rainy River provided the Last Post tribute.
A funeral mass was held Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Way Roman Catholic Church in Pinewood. Father James Panikulam officiated, with interment in the Pinewood Catholic Cemetery in Pinewood.
Pallbearers were his grandsons, Tom, Tyler, Randy, and Jason Seguin, with his nephews, Cory Larocque and Michael White.
Honourary pallbearers were his grandchildren, Audrey, Nicole, Mitchell, and Dayna Seguin, and Cody Ossachuk, and his great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Stephen Brown.
