On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at La Verendrye General Hospital, Fay Edwards passed peacefully from her failing body into the waiting arms of her Saviour.
Fay was born on October 17, 1945, in Winnipeg, Man., to Doug and Marie Rowley and raised in Nipigon, Ont., meeting her husband Marvin Owen (Bud) Edwards at Lakehead University. They were married on December 28, 1966.
Fay graduated from Lakehead University in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in mathematics, and from Queen’s University Faculty of Education in 1968.

Fay worked as a teacher in various schools in her lifetime including Fort William Collegiate Institute, Fort Frances High School, Emmanuel Christian Academy, and was a supply teacher at many schools in the Rainy River School District. She also worked for Ontario Hydro as an account representative for several years. She worked with her husband, Bud, contributing as the bookkeeper for about a decade at The Furniture Market.
She was an active member of Calvary Tabernacle/New Beginnings Fellowship serving on the Board and as Treasurer/bookkeeper for many years. Fay loved her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ and loved to share with people her journey from atheist to faith. She wore out several Bibles reading scripture, loved to worship and was a prayer warrior. She was generous and compassionate, always ready to help those in need.
She is survived by daughter Wendy (Chuck) Croker and grandchildren Brenden (Rachel) and Brittney (Steven) of Winnipeg; son Glenn (Kendra) and grandchildren Rye, Hailey, Evan, Andrew and Amelia of Thunder Bay; son Gary (Pam) and grandchildren Cole (Amanda), Piper (Aidan), Berea, Jude, Creed, Laud, Jubilee, Nain and Wells; great-granddaughter Alora of Fort Frances; daughter Lisa Edwards of Thunder Bay; her sisters Fern, Linda, Gail, and Barbara; and brothers Glen and Larry. Fay was predeceased by her parents Doug and Marie; and husband Bud.
Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life service on January 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at New Beginnings Fellowship, Fort Frances, with Pastor John Telman officiating.
