It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Fay Ann Kennedy at the age of 72.
She was born Aug. 5, 1943 in Emo, Ont. to Edwin and Elda Kennedy.
Fay met and spent more than 40 years with her life partner, John Hazel Sr., and became a stepmother to Jackie Spuzak, Toni Newcomb, Leslie Baird, and John Hazel Jr.
Fay was predeceased by her parents, Edwin and Elda Kennedy; brother, Robert John Kennedy; sister, Helen Geary; and brother-in-law, Hugh Geary.
She is survived by her partner, John Hazel Sr., and her stepchildren; brothers, Ed Kennedy and Ruffus (Marika) Kennedy; sister, Betty (Marc) Madill; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Fay loved spending time with John, going on road trips and watching the great-grandchildren play hockey. She never missed a game.
She also enjoyed gardening and family gatherings.
She was passionate about her clients at work, and cooking for them and her family. She made a stellar potato salad, soups, and numerous desserts.
Fay would host an annual gingerbread house-making get-together each Christmas for the children closest to her.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
If friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to Riverside’s Front Street Manor.
