Evelyn Harriet Nelson, 78, of Rainy River, Ont., passed away Thursday, June 3, 2004 at the Rainy River Hospital. She was born July 14, 1925 in McInnis Creek, Ont.
Evelyn had worked at Co-Op and Arctic Cat in Rainy River for many years and also at the Cedar Island Camp in Morson. She liked to spend time at their cabin at the lake, and her biggest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters and great-granddaughter.
She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #54 Ladies Auxiliary.
Evelyn was united in marriage in 1946 to Herb, who survives along with their daughter, Linda (Ed) Andy of Kenora, Ont.
Also surviving are her two granddaughters, Michelle and Heather, and her great-granddaughter, Vanessa; two sisters, Alice (Leo) Brown of Fort Frances, Ont., and Vivian (Robert) Locking of Rainy River, Ont.; one sister-in-law, Dorothy (Phil) Stasinicki of Thunder Bay, Ont.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, James and Petra Drennan; two brothers, Ernie and Laverne Drennan; and brother-in-law, Ronald Earl Nelson.
A Service of Remembrance celebrating Evelyn’s life will be held at the McInnis Creek Chapel at a later date.
